Filmmaker Onir receives ‘Kashish Rainbow Warrior’ Award
Filmmaker Onir was presented with the prestigious Kashish Rainbow Warrior Award by actress Raveena Tandon at the opening ceremony of the 14th Kashish International Queer Film Festival. The grand event took place in Mumbai, celebrating diversity, inclusion and the power of cinema.
Onir’s latest film, ‘Pine Cone’ was premiered as the opening film for the 14th edition of Kashish Mumbai International Queer Film Festival, enthralling the audience with its poignant story and powerful themes. The film explores the complexities of gay relationships, pushes the boundaries of societal norms, and sheds light on the experiences of the LGBTQ+ community.
Talking about the award, Onir said, “This award is incredibly special, not only because it is Pride Month, but also because it is Kashish, and it is special that this award of love comes from my city of love, Mumbai. Happens in I thank Kashish Film Festival and Sridhar for this award.
Onir also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Raveena Tandon, who has been a steadfast friend and support for the past 23 years. Onir said, “I am delighted to receive this award from my friend Raveena, who has been my lifelong companion. And I am glad that today my friend, my biggest support system, my Nikhil, my business partner Sanjay Suri are also present in the audience.
