Actor Mangal Dhillon Passed Away

Mangal Dhillon, a well-known actor of films and TV serials, has passed away. He was battling a serious illness like cancer for a long time. He was undergoing treatment in a hospital in Ludhiana. It is being told that his condition was critical for some time. During the treatment, he said goodbye to the world on Sunday. Actor Yashpal Sharma has confirmed the news of his death on social media. His last rites will be performed today (June 11) at 4 pm at his village Nilon Kalan in Punjab.
Mangal was a famous name in the Punjabi film industry. Apart from this, he also won the hearts of people with his performance in many Bollywood films and TV serials. He appeared in a cameo role in the 1988 film Khoon Bhari Maang. After this he continued to be active in the world of entertainment.
Apart from acting, he also produced and directed many films. The actor was born in a Punjabi family in Faridkot. He got his early education from here. After this he moved to Uttar Pradesh with the family.
After this he returned to Punjab and then graduated from there. After completing his studies, he joined the theatre. In the year 1986, he got his first TV serial Katha Sagar. The famous TV show Buniyaad made him a household name.
In his career, he worked in serials like Kismat, The Great Maratha, Mujrim Hazir, Rishta Maulana Azad, Noor Jehan. Later, he also started getting roles for films. After Khoon Bhari Maang, he appeared in films like Wounded Woman, Dayawan, Azad Desh Ke Ghulam, Pyar Ka Devta, Akela, Dil Tera Aashiq, Dalal, Vishwatma, Nishana. In his film journey, he played mostly negative roles. He was last seen on the big screen in the film Toofan Singh. This film was released in the year 2017.
Senior journalist Inder Mohan Pannu has paid tribute to Mangal Dhillon by remembering him. He said, “I knew him very well and since we were from the same cast, we bonded very quickly. He was a really good actor with a deep voice. I remember in the court scene while shooting for Akela, he delivered his lines so well that even Amitabh clapped loudly in one take and praised his talent. I used to visit his residence at Yari Road and enjoyed his hospitality.
His wife is a renowned painter so his drawing room was well decorated with paintings. Yes, Mangal had made a serial on Bhoots and I got a chance to watch it. Believe it or not, Mangal had recorded the interviews of the ghosts with the help of some associates and he tried to sell this serial to some channels, but for one reason or the other it could not happen. Once journalist Pammi Somal also watched this serial and she was so scared that she shouted “Baaju hat jao… Baaju hat jao…” all the way to her car back home thinking that in the night There must be ghosts sitting by the side of the road. This was the effect of his serial.
